St Richard's

Church of England First School

Our School Library

Our School Library was refurbished in July 2018 and is used daily. We have a bright and welcoming environment with a wide range of fiction, non fiction and poetry books. Children are able to borrow books and our reading buddies support the use of the library.

Our library is a key learning space within school and children enjoy daily phonics lessons here and every class has regular, timetabled sessions to enjoy time in the library and to read for pleasure as well as to further their knowledge in their history and geography topics. They use the sessions to research a specific topic or use the time to read a book, read aloud to a friend or float away into a different world listening to story read by an adult - heaven!
