Children at St Richard's are taught to respect their peers and adults through understanding that everyone is unique!

We encourage children to be compassionate when others are hurt, upset or sad.
Co-operation - 'The action or process of working together to the same end'
Through teamwork children work together in many different situations and are encouraged to share responsibility and ensure everyone has a job to do!
Thankfulness - 'Feeling or expressing gratitude; appreciative'
Children at St Richard's are encouraged to be thankful for all they have.
Tolerance - 'The ability or willingness to tolerate the existence of opinions or behaviour that one dislikes or disagrees with'
We encourage children to be tolerant of others despite differences in opinions or behaviour traits.
Friendship - 'Is a relationship of mutual affection between people'
Through the teaching of the values children at St Richard's are great friends to everyone.
Honesty - 'Speaking the truth'
Children at St Richard's are encouraged to think that being honest means more than not lying. They learn that honesty shows that an honest person doesn't do things that are morally wrong and being honest is about speaking and acting truthfully.
Forgiveness - 'The action or process of forgiving or being forgiven'
When an incident happens children are taught to forgive and therefore learn to be forgiven for accidents or mishaps that happen in school.
Caring - 'Displaying kindness and concern for others'
We encourage all children to be kind and caring towards everyone and everything!
Hope - 'A feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen'
Children at St Richard's are supported to feel optimistic about all they are involved in and to believe that positive things will happen if you try!
Trust - 'Firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something'
We encourage children to believe in themselves and to trust themselves, each other and to build relationships that are built on trust.
