Reading

Jazz Harper Space Explorer

For this task, we would like you to read the story Jazz Harper Space Explorer. It's quite a long text so, as usual, we suggest that you split your reading up over a few different sessions.

Once you have read the text, have a go at completing the reading comprehension questions. You'll notice that there's an extract of the text included with these; use this to help you answer the questions.

There are 3 versions of the comprehension; * is the easiest, ** is a little trickier and *** is the most complex. Use this as a reading chilli challenge (like we often do in maths lessons!) and choose which level to start at. Remember, you can always move up or down to a different set of questions, just make sure that you are challenging yourself!

VE Day Reading Comprehension

Have a go at this reading comprehension all about VE Day. There are 3 versions; * is the easiest, ** is a little trickier and *** is the most complex. Macbeth Play Script

This play script is quite long, so it's a good idea to split up the reading over a number of days. You could even act it out with members of your family over the next few weeks! Once you are happy that you understand what you have read, head over to the 'Writing' page on the website to have a look at what tasks you could complete based on the story of Macbeth. Over there, there is also a link to some videos that tell the story so you could use these to help you understand the script. Macbeth is one of our favourite play scripts written by William Shakespeare, we wish we could be teaching you all about it at school! Enjoy! smiley
