This week we are looking at instruction writing.
Thursday - Have a look at this BBC Bitesize video explaining how to write instructions. After watching the video, can you write down any features that you need to include when writing instructions?
When writing instructions, you need to try and include the following features...
1. A title.
2. An opening question.
3. You will need ( including commas in a list )
4. Numbers for each instruction.
5. Time words:First, Next, Then After that, Finally.
6. Bossy verbs (imperative verbs): chop, put, eat, place, slice.
7. Adjectives.
Friday - Can you write a set of instructions to make a jam sandwich? Use the pictures below to help you and try to include the following features:
1. A title.
2. An opening question.
3. You will need ( including commas in a list )
4. Numbers for each instruction.
5. Time words:First, Next, Then After that, Finally.

Challenge - Can you include an ly adverb? For example:
Next carefully brush the sides of your hard, shiny teeth.
