Helen Mortimer

The whole school was privileged to receive a virtual author visit from the wonderful Helen Mortimer! Helen is the author of the beautiful book Omar, the Bees and Me, which inspires our young people to look after the world around them. Helen has been our author of the term this summer and we were lucky enough to ask her questions about her life, inspirations and what it is like to be an author. We were dazzled by her enthusiasm and love of books and cannot wait to get our hands on her new releases in the autumn term! 

Neal Layton

Our lucky Key Stage 1 children have taken part in a 'draw along' virtual event with the terrific author and illustrator, Neal Layton. They discovered how he draws the characters and decides what features they will have and had a go at following his instructions to draw just like him! 

Michael Rosen

Our Key Stage 2 Children took part in a virtual author experience with non other than the legendary Michael Rosen. He showed them how to perform poems for an audience and even performed some of his work for them. They have been Michael Rosen Obsessed since! 

Andy Cope

Author Andy Cope visited school to lead assemblies, set writing challenges and talk about how to be brilliant!

Andy is the author of the Spy Dog, Spy Pup and Spy Cat series of books. He talked to the children about how he became an author, how his ideas are initiated and his passion for reading and writing.

The children were fascinated by his stories and his passion and hopefully he has inspired some of our children to want to become authors!
